From September 21, 2017 to January 21, 2018, an exhibition at the Scuderie del Quirinale, promises to be the highlight as concerns art events in Rome for next autumn / winter season.
Pablo Picasso. Between Cubism and Neoclassicism: 1915 - 25 exhibits works by Picasso from the Paris Center Pompidou, Berggruen Museum in Berlin, Fundació Museu Picasso in Barcelona, Guggenheim and Metropolitan Museum in New York. In addition works such as the Parade, a 17 x 10 meters canvas, will be displayed for the first time in Rome.
Picasso lived and traveled in Italy in 1917, 100 years ago, and he was stunned by the Renaissance art during his stay in Rome, Naples, Florence and Milan; he also met his first wife while in Italy, Ol'ga Stepanivna Khochlovamostra, Ukrainian dancer.
The exhibition at the Scuderie del Quirinale aims to document how much the Italian experience influenced Picasso's painting in the decade under consideration.
The exhibition is open every day, from Sunday to Thursday from 10am to 8pm, on Friday and Saturday from 10am to 10.30pm. Entry is allowed up to one hour before the closing time.
